Selection chart of the artificial lift system based on the reservoir pressure index and productivity index

PDF (Español (España))

Abstract

This article proposes a methodology that consists of the preselection and selection of the artificial lifting system (ALS) using the graph of the reservoir pressure index vs. productivity index which will allow an adequate selection that will improve the economic profitability of any oil field. This new graph of reservoir pressure index vs. Productivity index requires the parameters of reservoir pressure, true vertical depth (TVD) and the productivity index, which is used in the preselection of the artificial survey. For the selection of the system the information of each well is needed, such as reservoir data, mechanical data of the well, among others, which have been classified as limiting, determining and complementary parameters to select the most optimal efficient and effective survey for the well in study. With the required data, a comparison is made to determine the area where the analyzed well is located in accordance with the graph established in this project and with the information compendium of the artificial lifting systems, the optimal system of the well under study can be selected. One of the main objectives of this work is to provide a guide to select the artificial lift system using the graph that relates the reservoir pressure index, the productivity index and with the help of the artificial lift systems compendium, allow to perform a pre-selection and selection of optimal, efficient and effective artificial lifting.
