Equity in university functions, an essential perspective for a comprehensive approach Higher Education
Abstract
The present work remarks the need to consider in the development of inclusion in universities, not only the support to specific categories of people, but a wider perspective which includes how different university functions (Teaching, research, extension, management) contribute to equity.
On this purpose, some requirements to sustain institutional actions for the development of equity in university functions are analyzed. An important conclusion for the success in the design and implementation of those actions need a commitment of all member of the university community which is only possible with the creation of a culture of equity in the institution.
