PDF (Español (España))

Abstract

Cuban Higher Education must work to make students feel co-participants in the fulfillment of the 2030 Agenda and the sustainable development goals; One way to achieve this is the application of collaborative learning methods that link training with development problems in the territories. The work focuses on the training of professionals in the Information Sciences fundamentally linked to objective 8 of the Agenda "Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all". It shows how from different subjects taught at the universities of Havana and Holguín, students are prepared to participate in the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). The classic documentary analysis was applied for the theoretical foundation and the consultation of the programs of the subjects as support for the reflections that are presented. It was concluded that it is possible to use different active teaching techniques, both face-to-face and virtual, to develop collaborative skills in solving development problems; that in both universities the treatment of the SDGs has increased as part of the training of the students of the career and that the activities planned in the subjects allow the students to identify themselves as actors of development where they assume different roles, both as creators of products and information services such as empowering individuals by training them for better information management in all scenarios.
