The objective of Medicina is to communicate, disseminate and permanently register, through the publication of articles designated as original or primary, the results of the scientific investigations of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil and its national and international collaborators, to form a collection of the advances achieved in the Health Sciences.

Medicina, the journal of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil (revista.medicina@cu.ucsg.edu.ec) publishes original scientific research papers, case reports, review articles, special articles, editorials and other manuscripts related to health care and administration. Its mission is to be an organ of scientific diffusion of national predominance, to promote research related to health (medical, dental, nutritional, psychological, nursing, etc.) and to raise the level of publications in Ecuador.
