Abstract

Bronchogenic cysts are particularly rare malformations that derive from the anterior mediastinum. Reports in pediatrics is infrequent and more rarely when located subcutaneously in the neck which may produce a fistula in the trachea and cause related complications. To date, there are 26 cases reported, being the diagnosis histopathological and the treatment surgical. We present the case of an infant with an anterior medial cervical subcutaneous mass that
after being excised the microscopic report revealed a bronchogenic cyst. We discuss the case and perform a literature review.
