Projected transformations to manage the accounting process of the University of Havana with quality

PDF (Español (España))

Abstract

The accounting management of the University of Havana requires transformations in its actions to achieve a higher qualitative level, which is why the objective of this research is to propose the elements subject to improvement and the actions to be developed to contribute to the improvement of the management of the accounting process. In the development of the work, the theoretical elements that support the research are addressed and the context in which accounting management is developed is exposed. A survey was applied to the qualified personnel of the Economics directorates of the Budgeted Assurance Unit at the University of Havana (UPAUH) and the University of Havana (UH) to update the diagnosis of the situation of the accounting process and determine the main strengths and weaknesses associated with it. The results obtained allowed us to conclude that there are weaknesses related to the management of human capital, the accounting manual and the design of the management of the accounting process, which should be addressed by taking advantage of the potentialities associated with the commitment of the staff to achieve the quality of the accounting process. Consequently, the actions to be carried out in these three aspects that support the redesign of the management of the accounting process in the UH are proposed.
